Innovative hardware, software and product design consultancy - Gill Research and Development - implemented Q-Pulse, developed by Gael Ltd, in a bid to efficiently control their compliance management.
Based in Lymington, on the south coast of the UK, Gill Research and Development are part of the successful Gill group of companies and provide innovative design solutions to both its external clients and sister companies.
The company’s previous document, drawing and asset control processes had been managed by its sister company – in effect an external source – and they wanted those processes to be managed “in-house” instead.
For the move to be a successful one, Gill Research and Development needed a robust and scalable software solution to make the transition as smooth as possible. They selected Q-Pulse after being impressed be the system’s capabilities.
Chris Barrett, Quality Engineer at Gill Research and Development, said: “After a strategic decision was made to bring the management system previously controlled by our sister company in-house, we created a separate integrated management system of our own using Q-Pulse.
“I had heard of Q-Pulse many years ago when the solution was in its infancy and was really impressed with the capabilities of the software then. I kept a demo of it as a “just-in-case” item. Once it was clear what was required and how much our budget was, I set about a research programme to procure the most appropriate software solution for our wide ranging requirements. During the process, I investigated five different software solutions, demonstrated three, but came back to Q-Pulse as the one that fitted the requirement best.
Chris added: “For me, the benefits that Q-Pulse has brought to the business are massive – control is automatic and visual at all levels, storage and retrieval of documents, asset and training records are centralised and efficient and obsolete issues of documents are instantly a thing of the past.
