In order to successfully comply with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, Oil and Gas industry regulations and establish a controlled document management system, Proserv identified a need to implement an electronic quality management solution which would not enslave its users to eight hours of monitor and keyboard usage.

Eric Cannell, QHSE Manager at Proserv Offshore, said: “The main project driver for us at Proserv Offshore was to find an electronic management solution which would make it easier to comply with standards – particularly ISO 9001 - and now OHSAS 18001 and hopefully next year BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management Control Systems. Our goal is for a fully integrated management system to be controlled by
Q-Pulse.

“Our new system had to be a one stop management system which would allow us to manage all our processes, such as tracking documentation and workflows, in one central place. Alongside this, it would also have to double up as a portal for control – this was a key factor when listing the functional requirements of the new system.”

Proserv Offshore chose Q-Pulse, from Gael Ltd, after being impressed by the product benefits of the solution, such as its ability to track documents, ensuring that only approved, current documents are used throughout. Eric added: “The fact that we could track our documentation and measures through Q-Pulse was very attractive for us as a business. It meant that we could easily access and demonstrate visibility of the entire management process to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) standards. For example, in terms of an approval process for a document, Q-Pulse’s ability to track changes and revisions meant we could easily access and review the history of a document, from its creation through to publication. This is of great benefit to us, for example, during an audit.

“Q-Pulse is an excellent tool which has allowed us to manage, centralise and streamline our Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes, as well as our Health, Safety and Environment obligations. The solution has resulted in the company being able to establish controlled documentation from a central source. The beauty of the whole system is that it is user friendly – which is great for busy people doing many things simultaneously.
