Biomnis Ireland is a leading private sector provider of referral clinical pathology services to healthcare professionals.

Part of the Biomnis Group with laboratories in Lyon, Paris and Bordeaux, the Group’s Dublin-based facility required an efficient and electronic solution to help them manage their Document Management, Audit and CA/PA processes.

Their previous paper-based system had been raising issues around CA/PA Management, Document Management and Equipment Monitoring, which all had to be managed effectively to comply with the ISO 15189 standard.

Q-Pulse, the compliance management solution, developed by Gael Ltd, was chosen as the solution to help manage these compliance activities.

Jean-Sébastien Charles, Quality Assurance Manager at Biomnis Ireland, said: “As a result of the increase of our test portfolio, the volume of documentation required from a quality perspective was not suitable with a paper-based system as there were too many copies to print, too many signatures etc.”

The Biomnis group offers over 2,500 clinical assays accredited to internationally recognised ISO standards. The Group processes over 250,000 patient tests per week, while Biomnis Ireland is the preferred laboratory partner of over 90% of Irish Hospitals.

Therefore, it was imperative the organisation remained on top of their Document Management, Audit and CA/PA processes.

Jean-Sébastien added: “We decided to implement Q-Pulse mainly to heal these document management issues. The solution has since helped us to streamline our documentation in terms of reviewing, distributing and acknowledging documents.

Our overall Document Control has also been improved in terms of tracking document revisions and overall control of our documentation. We have also found the equipment module very helpful for the management of calibration and maintenance associated with different pieces of equipment.
