Portuguese Business Jet operator, MasterJet, will implement an automated safety management system (SMS) to enhance safety and quality to EASA, JAR-OPS and ICAO standards.

The Lisbon-based private jet airline will replace their previous paper-based systems with Q-Pulse, the leading safety and quality management solution for aviation businesses. Q-Pulse, developed by Gael Ltd, will allow MasterJet to effortlessly streamline essential business management processes such as audit and document management, allowing ease of management and significantly improving all procedural tasks and operations across the business.

Nuno Perestrelo, MasterJet’s Engineering Director, said: “In order to move the business forward, as well as meet regulations set out by EASA, JAR-OPS and ICAO standards, we decided that an automated management system would have to be implemented to replace our paper based systems, which had become laborious and time consuming.

“Q-Pulse SMS was chosen as it will integrate our quality and safety processes and allow us to manage them from one central location. Our previous systems were managed and created in-house through document and spreadsheet software. These were used to manage both safety and quality issues within our operations and maintenance departments. Q-Pulse SMS will bring all of these processes together electronically, making it easier to manage the entire business’ document management process, corrective actions and audit calendar thanks to the automated functionality built into Q-Pulse.”

Through Q-Pulse SMS, MasterJet will address a number of issues which were becoming increasingly bureaucratic and difficult to manage as the business evolved. For example, issues around safety reporting, incident and investigation management, document and process control, audit management and action tracking are now all set to be automatically managed via Q-Pulse SMS. Indeed, Q-Pulse is set to provide a centralised and integrated safety and quality solution, providing a single point of reference for all compliance management activities, visibility of status and progress in planning, scheduling, audit findings and analysis reporting for overall business improvement planning.
