Mille Lacs Health System selects Q-Pulse as their quality management system solution

Mille Lacs Health System is a non-profit, rural community medical facility located in Minnesota, USA.

To organise their regulatory compliance activities, the organisation had been manually managing their processes using paper and spread sheets. However, they identified a need for an electronic quality management system which would allow them to streamline their document and incident management processes, removing the bureaucracy and reducing effort associated with their previous system.

Q-Pulse, developed by Gael Ltd, was chosen as the solution to help them successfully achieve this.

Greg Larson, QA Manager at Mille Lacs, said: “Q-Pulse was chosen as it is an outstanding product which can help us improve our incident reporting and our document control process. Our previous system was very much paper-based and the biggest problems we were facing were in communicating our QMS. Q-Pulse will improve our internal communications, providing staff with information a lot faster than our previous paper-based system through its built-in automatic notifications. For example, by informing staff through an automatic email every time there is a problem found within the QMS, it means everyone is notified of changes as and when they happen, keeping everyone informed.

“In terms of its usage, we will mostly be using Q-Pulse for our incident reporting such as recording medical errors, falls and other patient concerns. However, the system is such a diverse product that we will also be using it for document management and, a little further down the line, auditing as well.

“I plan on using all Q-Pulse modules over time and I believe the solution will help bring a wealth of QMS improvements through being a very flexible and yet simple enough product, which everyone can use.”
