An award-winning compliance management solution is boosting a regional Canadian airline’s efforts to further enhance their management of Safety and maintain compliance with national aviation regulations. In helping to implement an efficient and effective system to manage Safety, Bearskin Airlines have chosen Q-Pulse, a compliance management solution from Scottish software developers Gael Ltd. One of Canada's oldest privately owned airlines, Bearskin Airlines provides service across the Provinces of Ontario and Manitoba. The airline offers more than 100 scheduled flights daily to 17 destinations including Ottawa, the nation’s capital, as well as Northern Ontario’s five largest cities and Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. ‘We’d had to replace the previous system within the maintenance department for tracking and monitoring non-conformances, which had become unwieldy in terms of storing and analysing the amount of data,’ explains Brad Martin, Director of Operations at Bearskin Airlines. ‘In replacing our in-house system, we’d researched several safety management system (SMS) solutions. Q-Pulse had been recommended to us by another airline, and we’d subsequently identified it as an aviation-specific system with a dedicated SMS component. ‘Q-Pulse provided a system that was very similar to the way in which we were already working. For us what set Q-Pulse apart from the other solutions that we’d looked at was its ability to analyse data, especially to analyse root cause to prevent recurrence of non-conformances. ‘With Q-Pulse now in use within Bearskin Airlines, we’re now able to track and monitor all non-conformances throughout the CA/PA process, which has boosted our efforts in implementing our SMS.’ For further information please contact:
