Dutch Medical helicopter company, ANWB Medical Air Assistance BV, have opted for a hosted Q-Pulse IMS system as they look to improve their safety management and overall business processes.
Covering the whole of the Netherlands, ANWB transport Mobile Medical Teams (MMTs) on behalf of four trauma centres within the country, operating 4000 medical assistance flights a year.
In order to enhance their processes and improve the business, the company identified a need for an integrated software solution to help combat issues with document control. ANWB’s new system would also have to be able to help them improve their Air Safety Report (ASR) system at the same time. A Hosted Q-Pulse IMS from Gael Ltd was chosen as the most efficient and cost effective option for ANWB.
Denise Eikelenboom, ANWB Director, said: “We identified that an electronic management system was required if we were to successfully improve our processes and procedures within the business and Q-Pulse was identified as the best system for ANWB. We were attracted to Q-Pulse mainly because the completeness of the system. By that, I mean that Q-Pulse would allow us to easily integrate vital information and documentation into the one, electronically manageable system. There was, of course, the fact that Q-Pulse offered us less of a paper trail, which was a huge factor in implementing Q-Pulse also.
“However, although we knew that Q-Pulse was the system we wanted, we realised that the costs of an On Premise option – which would involve finance for our IT contractors to manage and maintain the system and servers - were simply going to be too much for the company.
“However, Gael’s Hosted option – with Gael taking over system maintenance, upgrade and management responsibilities – offered us a cost effective way to get all the benefits of the Q-Pulse system.”
ANWB will use their hosted Q-Pulse IMS to successfully track audits, improve their overall document control and increase the smoothness of the ASR. As a busy medical assistance helicopter company, ANWB will also increase the focus on their safety occurrence reporting and incident management.
Denise added: “Through Q-Pulse, we expect a smoother document control process, a more efficient audit process and a better functioning ASR-system for the business. Incidentally, the Support we have received from Gael during this early process has been nothing short of excellent.”
