Scottish software developers Gael Ltd are celebrating for the second successive year after being named as one of the fastest growing companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Based in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, Gael - developers of Q-Pulse, the market leading compliance management solution - cemented their place in the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA list following yet another successful year for the company.
Their turnover rose impressively by 573 per cent in the last 5 years – helping them qualify as one of EMEA’s fastest growing organisations. Overall the company were placed 316th – a result which leaves them 59th in Britain and the 4th fastest growing company in Scotland.
Gael’s Managing Director Donald Maciver, said: “We are really delighted to have achieved this recognition in consecutive years as the Deloitte Awards focus on the growth of each entrant over a 5 year period and this criteria obviously favours start-up companies demonstrating growth at this level and gets tougher as the base line grows in each subsequent year.
“Gael is one of a few long established companies in those rankings but we have grown turnover and profit in each of the last 15 years. We are currently in the middle of a major growth phase having added 23 staff to our team in the last 6 months and are in the process of adding a further 20 in the first half of 2011. These are top quality professional positions and will bring our headcount up to 115, demonstrating that Gael’s products and services are continuing to enjoy great success in both domestic and international markets despite tough economic conditions worldwide.

The prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Awards are held each year and recognises companies that show innovation while overcoming obstacles to defy the odds.
The Fast 500 programme is based on percentage revenue growth over five years and recognises all areas of technology, including both public and private companies, and continues to be sought out by technology organisations across the globe.
